Fun Activities For People Who Like To Spend Time Alone

Being a loner or a person who spends a lot of time alone doesn't have to be boring. There's so much to do when you have a someone, but there's just as plenty to do when you're single and/or alone and it can be fun too!

I know a lot about being alone because... Let me explain. If you've read my post on how I balanced high and sports you'd know I've only ever made just one friend in both high schools I went to. You'll be shocked to know that after spending years in college, there's not even a person I can call from there to talk to about anything. I didn't make any friends. Anyway, here are 6 fun activities for people who spend too much time on their own:

Visit The Park
If you're spending too much time alone you might need to interact with other people every once in a while for your own well-being. You don't even have to converse with everyone at the park, you can simply just go there at a time where certain activities are taking place there. I remember our nearest park in college used to have people doing some aerobics on Saturday mornings. The boys used to play soccer there too. I liked watching soccer while I was on my phone for an obvious reason - free Wi-Fi.

Take Up A New Hobby
Having one usual routine can get boring and eventually stressful. It's good to get out of your comfort zone or still stay there and take up a new hobby. I used to go to the gym. I met a lot of people there, participated in aerobics and conversed with the coaches there. It was a good place to get my mind off of things.

Take Yourself Out For Lunch
Food can change your mood from bored to 'I'm so glad I came here'. It's just something it does. Taking yourself out is also a form of self-care which is good for your mental health. Did I mention that it's also an excuse to look pretty and wear your favourite outfits? Try it, it's fun.

Explore Your Town
You know how we may sometimes think that our hometowns are boring? You'd be shocked to find that you've been missing outnon great places around you. Google places around you and go have fun.

Go To a Music Concert
Is your favourite band coming to town or city? Have you bought your ticket or are you worried you'll be alone? There's really no reason to be afraid of being alone at a concert. You'll have thousands of 'friends' that night and who knows? A room full of thousands of people, I like the odds.

Read A Book
What I like about books is that the author gives you what you need to build beautiful pictures in your mind. We may read the same book but how we build the scenarios in our head will always differ. I like books because they're so interesting.

It doesn't have to be lonely being alone. Remember, just because you like to spend time alone doesn't mean you have to do that all the time. You can make friends, get a partner and still make time for yourself. I would like to know, do you like to spend time on your own? What are some of the fun things you like to do alone?

  4. My favourite thing to do alone right now is to take myself to Starbucks with a book. But I absolutely love doing things on my own. I went to a spa break last year alone and it was the best x

    1. I feel like it's easy to forget about the town or city you're from and focus on places a bit far. Your own town could really be great too. Thanks for stopping by x

  6. I'm like you - I don't make friends easily, and I have been living in a small town for 5 years and haven't made a single friend. I do love being on my own though and I actually do most of these activities to spice up my days off haha music concert is a hard one as I am in rural New Zealand, but it would be fun if I could :)

  8. I'd class myself as a bit of a loner. All these ideas sound great, the only thing I'd be nervous about it going to a concert on my own. I'm not sure why? Haha. Thanks for sharing these.

  13. Before I became a mother and actually experienced alone time (cue laughter), I remember doing things by myself. Things like going to a comedy show because I really loved the comedian but none of my friends could make it. I always felt awkward waiting in line because everyone else was chatting with their friends, etc and I was just there. On the flip side, there have been wonderful events I’ve not gone too because I didn’t have anyone to go with and looking back I regret those decisions; I should have gone solo.

    1. I have lost count on how many stuff I have done solo. If I didn't have anyone to go with then I knew I was going alone and I didn't mind at all. Now I bring the little guy to so many places and growth feels great too :)
